WHICH DEVICE SHOULD I USE FOR OPEL TPMS SYSTEMS?
All ATEQ tools are compatible with Opel original sensors. Many devices also program universal aftermarket sensors to be fitted in Opel vehicles. To reset or to relearn the Opel TPMS ECU, an OBD capable TPMS tool is recommended to avoid long manual relearn procedures or to drive the car in case of Auto Relearn.

The Q-1244-BX TPMS TOOL for Opel vehicles is accessible for all Opel dealers from PSAs own purchase platform. It includes all PSA brands (Opel, Vauxhall, OPC, Peugeot, Citroen, DS). When a Opel TPMS sensor is broken, or does not respond anymore, it is time to replace it. Go to the Part Number Lookup menu in the ATEQ TPMS tool menu, to find the right Original Equipement spare part replacement number for Opel. Another alternative is to programme a universal sensor. Most Opel vehicles use direct TPMS systems. Direct TPMS systems, used in for example the Opel Astra, Opel Insignia and Opel Mokka, use TPMS sensors inside the wheel to report pressure data to the vehicle’s ECU in real time. Direct systems are more accurate and reliable to indicate which tire is underinflated.The Indirect TPMS system utilizes the ABS system to monitor the speed of the wheel and communicate to the ECU. Opel vehicles – such as the Opel Combo Life; Opel Corsa F, Opel Crossland X; Opel Grandland X and Opel Vivaro – use indirect systems. Indirect systems are less reliable since they cannot tell the driver which tire is low on pressure, and won’t warn the driver if all four tires are losing pressure at the same time. Opel uses indirect TPMS in very few cars. This basic system, uses wheel rotation monitoring and often ABS wheel speed sensor information to establish if there is a pressure issue or a puncture. It is necessary to reinitialise the system every time one or more tyre pressures are adjusted, and after changing one or more wheels. The process varies from one Opel vehicle to the other. WHICH TPMS RESET PROCEDURE FOR OPEL?
Most Opel vehicles make use a TPMS system which requires a Manual Relearn Procedure. To go faster, and avoid driving the vehicle for up to 10 minutes, professionals can use a tool with OBDII capability such as the ATEQ VT56. OBD relearn saves time and confusion for the technician since there are less steps to perform. All Opel vehicles with Direct TPMS, can be relearned via OBDII, using the ATEQ VT56.
