TPMS TOOLS FOR KIA VEHICLES

ATEQ TPMS workshop tools help garages and tire shops to service their customers’ vehicles faster, better and more securely. ATEQ works closely with Kia on the production line and in dealerships. ATEQ TPMS tools are used in many KIa workshops. Our collaboration gives us access to the latest TPMS protocols as soon as a new vehicle is brought to the market.

WHICH DEVICE SHOULD I USE FOR A KIA TPMS SYSTEMS?

All ATEQ tools are compatible with Kia original sensors. Many devices also program universal aftermarket sensors to be fitted in Kia vehicles. Choose the ATEQ VT36 tool if you require a TPMS sensor activation tool for Kia.
To reset the Kia TPMS ECU, a tool such as the ATEQ VT56 is indispensable.
The ATEQ VT56 includes almost 100% OBDII routines for Kia vehicles using Direct TPMS. For Kia XCeed, use the ATEQ VT36 and the OEM diagnostic tool.

ATEQ VT56 TPMS TOOL for KIA
The ATEQ VT56 is the all-in-one comprehensive TPMS tool with coverage for all TPMS enabled vehicles in Europe, but also imported vehicles from America. It covers all Kia vehicles, as well as all other TPMS equipped passenger cars on the market. With its OBDII module and advanced features, the tool acts as a full diagnostic tool for all TPMS maintenance. It includes OBD relearn procedures for 95% of Kia vehicles on the European market. For Kia XCeed, use the ATEQ VT56 and the OEM diagnostic tool. Find out more about the ATEQ VT56 here.
ATEQ VT36 TPMS TOOL for KIA
ATEQ VT36 is a TPMS activation and programming tool with coverage for all Kia vehicles. Most Kia vehicles uses either an Auto relearn procedure. Use the ATEQ VT36 TPMS tool to activate the Kia vehicle’s TPMS sensor for maintenance or for final check before the auto relearn procedure. Find out more about VT36.
What happens when a TPMS sensor Is faulty or damaged?

REPLACING A TPMS SENSOR ON A KIA VEHICLE

When a Kia TPMS sensor is broken, or does not respond anymore, it is time to replace it. Go to the Part Number Lookup menu in the ATEQ TPMS tool menu, to find the right Original Equipment spare part replacement number for Kia. Another alternative is to programme a universal sensor. A TPMS programming tool such as the VT36, VT46 and the VT56 allows to programme over 10 brands of universal sensors. See this video about TPMS sensor programming

How do I reset the KIA TPMS ECU?

HOW DO YOU RELEARN TPMS ON THE KIA OPTIMA

The Kia Optima uses a direct TPMS system, which means TPMS sensors are installed in the wheel. If one or more tires indicate low tire pressure, the TPMS sensors will transfer the information to the vehicle’s ECU. An indicator light (low-line TPMS system) or each tire pressure will show on the dash (high-line TPMS system). Kia Optima uses an Auto Relearn system. However, Ateq has developed specific OBDII procedures for over Kia Optima. This OBDII relearn procedures is available on the ATEQ VT56 TPMS tool for example. Find out more about the VT56

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SOLID TPMS LIGHT AND A FLASHING TPMS LIGHT?

The TPMS warning light will illuminate when a tire is low, and should eventually go out after a tire has been inflated to its recommended pressure according to the vehicle’s door placard. After starting a vehicle, a TPMS icon will turn on for a few seconds. However, if the light stays on, it indicates that one or more of the tires on the vehicle are at least 25% below the recommended pressure. If the light flashes for one to two minutes, it indicates there is a malfunction in the TPMS system. There are many situations that can cause a TPMS warning light to come on or flash. One or more sensor batteries could be dead. The valve itself may have physical damage, corrosion or missing components or the TPMS system voltage supply, wiring or internal electronics may not be functioning properly. The tires were serviced or rotated and the relearn procedure was not properly performed. It is important to check the TPMS system before working on a customer’s vehicle. Using an ATEQ TPMS diagnostic tool, such as a VT56 or VT36.
